Visa road-blocks for South Africans
23rd February, 2009
Since the UK Home Office announced that South Africans will face stricter immigration rules to cross its borders and will need a visa to travel to the UK, The Smooth Group has been inundated with phone calls. Many South African nationals living in the UK are unsure about what these new rules mean for their families who would like to visit them.
Will they need a visa to travel to the UK? It seems very likely that it will happen yes. As from the beginning of March, first-time South African visitors to the UK, who don’t have a stamp in their passport already, are required to have a visa to enter the country. If you are a South African national wishing to visit the UK and are unsure about the process, The Smooth Group has trained UK immigration advisers in SA that can assist you in any way you need.
