Illegal immigrant sentenced to jail for ID fraud
23rd June, 2009
www.sloughobserver.co.uk published an article about a 37 year-old Indian national who was arrested in the UK after a raid at his workplace, a catering firm in Southall.
The man in question was sentenced to a 2 ½ year prison sentence after pleading guilty to charges of fraud, deception and immigration offences.
He originally entered the UK illegally in 1996 on an illegally obtained passport.
His employer in the UK now faces fines of up to £90,000 for employing the man and 8 other workers since the company failed to carryout the correct right to work checks.
