The deadline for HMRC to receive details of online self-assessment tax returns is midnight on the 31st of January 2010.  If tax returns are received by HMRC after this date individuals will be fined £100 for a late filing.   Please remember that not only do you have to file your return any outstanding tax liabilities are also due by midnight  on the 31st January 2010.  Any late payments can be subject to penalties, interest and surcharges.
